Popcorn Star Afghan

This afghan is one I’ve been wanting to do for a while. The instructions–from Crochet Today–say it is a quick project because the motifs are big and there’s only 9 needed to achieve the 48 inch square. 4 weeks ago, I decided to make for a friend getting married. I quickly learned that the 15 inch square motif takes much more time than anticipated because of the 5-dc popcorn placed in every stitch to make a star shape. Last week I finished the 9 squares required, but then realized it wasn’t big enough for a wedding gift. I needed to make at least three more. Right now, I have made 2 and the third one is on its way. I have learned from this blanket that patience is a well travelled journey!
